This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains how Teamy ("Teamy", "we", "our" or "us"), collects, uses and shares your information when you install or use Teamy applications ("Applications", "Application", "App") and services ("Services").

We strive to only collect data that enables us to provide you with the best Services. This includes, for example, minor things like allowing others to see your name, along with your profile picture in team chats, if you have one.

It also helps us provide maximum protection for your Teamy account from fraud and spam.

In addition, we also safeguard your communications via Teamy, like team chats, private one-on-one messages, shared media and other files, with end-to-end encryption.

That is, your unique encryption key is being stored solely on your device, hence no one else has access to it.


1.1. Account registration

  1. We collect elements of your Personal Data during your Teamy account registration, such as your name and email address.

    If you sign up to Teamy using your email address, we will use it to verify your account and further provide you with to our Services, handle your account support, and respond to your inquiries, if any.

    We may also use your email address to share our latest news and product updates with you.

    You may opt out of receiving newsletters and promotional emails from us anytime. Please refer to Chapter 4. Your Choice & Control for more information, regarding your opt-out options in Teamy.

    However, in case you choose not to provide it to us, your access & use of certain Teamy features and services, may be restricted.

    By voluntarily providing such Personal Data to us by choice, you confirm your consent to our collection, processing and use of this data.

1.2. Use of Our Services

Access to your Teamy account and further use of our Services via Teamy Applications, may require granting the following permissions to our App:

Contacts Our App requires access to Contacts (names & phone numbers) on your device to enable you to connect with people from your contact list via Teamy.
Device info Our App requires access to your device OS and ID to verify the device and add it to the list of your devices in Teamy (as a primary or secondary device), alert you of unusual or suspicious sign-in attempts for extra verification
Storage We may require access to Storage to enable you to upload media and other files from your device for sharing via Teamy, as well as download files sent to you, on device.
Camera This permission is required to enable you to capture photos or videos directly in the App and instantly share them via Teamy - either in a private message, or a team chat.
Notifications This permission is required to enable Teamy to instantly notify and remind you of new messages and other conversation updates, alert you of suspicious account activity and update you on the latest or upcoming app updates.
Location Web: Required to determine and assign language to your Teamy account.

Mobile apps:
Required if/when you choose to share your current location with a particular person or team chat in Teamy.

1.3. Personal Data Obtained from Other Sources

a. Google

If you sign up for a Teamy account via Google, you may be asked to share certain information from your Google account with Teamy, such as your Google account email and profile picture. This information is collected, processed and provided to us, according under the terms of Google's Privacy Policy.

1.4. Use of Cookies and Similar Technology

We may automatically collect certain Personal Data through the use of cookies, beacons and other similar technology to collect aggregated statistics related to the use of our Apps and Services and improve their performance.

a. Service Provision Cookies

While you are visiting the Website, our web servers for the operation of the Service temporarily collect general technical information, in particular about the software and hardware you use, the IP address of the requesting computer, which websites you have visited and when, and the Duration of your visit.

We use such service provision cookie technology to help you navigate our Website and enhance your experience with our Services and features.

Such cookie technology is non-privacy intrusive, as the collected data has no personal reference to you.

In case of a user login, however, we set a cookie, which then remains stored to enable automatic login (permanent cookie).

We may use third-party analytics and research services, such as Google Analytics to better understand how visitors interact with our Applications, e.g. collect data such as where visitors came from, what actions they took, and where visitors went when they left our Applications.

This data is collected and stored in the pseudonymized manner and can not be attributed separately to reveal a natural person's individual identity.

Teamy may share your Personal Data with third-party service providers who may assist us in responding to your inquiries or requests, and/or otherwise perform some operational functions for us.

We require that such third-party service providers confirm their Privacy Policy and data practices are consistent with those applicable via Teamy Apps.

Any use of your Personal Data by such Service Providers for purposes other than performing operational functions for Teamy is strictly prohibited.

Teamy may also disclose your Personal Data, if it is required by law, including without limitation, by search warrant, subpoena or court order; to protect our and third-party rights; and for purposes disclosed at the time of collection.


We do our best to provide you choice and control, with regard to Personal Data and other information you provide to us.

4.1. Right to Withdraw Consent

You may withdraw your consent to the collection and use of Personal Data by Teamy - generally or with regard to the additionally voluntarily communicated data in accordance with effect for the future.

However, in the event of your cancellation, certain features that require registration may no longer be provided.

4.4. Sharing Personal Data with Other Users

Teamy enables you to share media, documents and/or other types of content with other users via team chats and private messages. Teamy doesn't claim ownership of Your Content.

When you share content with others, you acknowledge that they may be able to save, record, reproduce, share, transmit, broadcast, display or otherwise use such content without providing any compensation to you.

Teamy doesn't use what you say in emails, messages, media and other files to target advertising to you.


We take reasonable measures to help maintain data we collect through our Applications in a secure manner.


Teamy shall not retain, use or process shared Personal Data, such as your email address or phone number, for longer than necessary to fulfill our business purpose.

We store non-personally intrusive data and the Personal Data obtained from the Use of our Applications, in a pseudonymized manner, up to one year in order to ensure that our Services function properly.


We process information in a way that is compatible with and relevant to the purpose for which it was collected as described above. 10.4. Notifying Third Parties about Personal Data Rectification, Restriction & Erasure

Where Teamy has disclosed Personal Data of its User to any third parties, and the User has subsequently exercised any of the rights of rectification, blocking or erasure, Teamy will promptly notify those third parties of the exercising of such rights by the User.

In no case Teamy shall be liable for the failure of any third party to comply with such User's request. Teamy is exempt from this obligation if it is impossible or would require disproportionate effort.

10.5. Collection and Use of Sensitive or Special Categories of Personal Data

We do not knowingly collect or process in any other way Sensitive and/or Special Categories of Personal Data, such as user data revealing ethnic or racial origin, philosophical and/or religious beliefs, trade-union membership, political opinions; Data regarding health and/or sex life and sexual orientation; genetic and/or biometric data; Personal Data of Children below the age of 18.

In case Teamy is made aware that it has received (a combination of) such Personal Data elements, we will use reasonable efforts to erase such Data from our records.


Our Applications may contain links to third-party websites. We do not own or control these websites, and their data practices are regulated by the Privacy Policies of such websites.


Teamy may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make any changes to this Policy, we will change the "Last Updated" date above, and in some cases we may provide you with additional notice.
